Opie Little Opie has been adopted in Maine!!! We love him! We've named him Monty!!!!! It has been a whirlwind week falling in love ith this little guy and he is going to change our lives!!! I feel so lucky!!!
Oakley We have renamed Oakley, Mr Dubbs and he has brought us nothing but joy for the last nine months. He is very sweet, not a barker and the easiest pup to house train I have ever had. Dubbs (double good) gets along with every two legged and four legged creature around. He has mastered several tricks...sit, shake, roll over and crawl and can be put in the stay command for seven minutes without moving a muscle. A very smart boy! Car rides and hikes are among his favorite activities. In the last photo you will notice he is in a thunder shirt, well.....he is wearing that because just recently he was running through the woods during our morning hike and must have hit some brush with some sharp sticks and basically splayed his under side wide open. We rushed him to the vet and he underwent two hours of surgery to put him back together. Fortunately, there were no internal injuries other than a deep puncture wound up into his chest cavity. The hardest part for the vet was finding enough skin to cover the wound( he has a very lean frame and weighs 44 pounds). He has numerous stitches and buttons were sewn in as well, to help hold the skin in place. Needless to say he was an outstanding patient, wagging his tail through the whole ordeal, and a new favorite at the animal hospital. He has been healing well and resting(although the resting part is hard for him). Hopefully, no further surgery will be needed. Dubbs will no doubt make a full recovery and be back to his old happy go lucky self. It was just one of those unfortunate freak accidents.Dubbs is well loved and truly special to us. I hope all is well with you and the rescue. I check the animal list often.......one day we would like to adopt again. Take care and thank you for all that you do on behalf of the dogs needing a caring home. I appreciate the difficulty, stress, sorrow and joy it brings. Respectfully, Amy Merluzzi and family
Oscar Thank you. We did much better with the storm than expected. Just a little bit of dampness in our basement, and power was only out for a few hours. Jorge and Oscar slept through it mostly. Here are a few pictures I've taken of them over the last few weeks. -Dave Click a letter to find an animal or view all.
